About Lord’s

Lord’s Cricket Ground has been home to cricket since 1814 and regularly hosts both test matches and one day international matches.

Where is it?

Lord’s is in St John’s Wood, north west London. It is near Regent’s Park, which hosts the Road Cycling race in 2012.

It is easy to get to by bus and tube from central London. St John’s Wood tube station is on the Jubilee line, making it quick to get to the Olympic Park and other east London venues.

Getting ready

Comparatively little preparation will be needed to get this world-class venue ready to host Archery for the
2012 Games.

An Archery range will be created on the outfield of the main ground and the Nurseryground. A venue use agreement has been signed with the Marylebone Cricket Club.

During the Games

Archery
Crowds of 6,500 will enjoy the Archery competition of the Olympic Games, with two fields of play inside the stadium.

After the Games

Lord’s will return to its traditional role as the home of cricket, providing a base for the Marylebone Cricket Club and Middlesex County Cricket Club.

Archery equipment from the training, warm up and competition venues will be given to clubs and schools across the country.
